Our Technology
Great tools in the right hands make a real difference. At Pediatric Dentistry, we invest in technology that helps us work more efficiently, provide better outcomes, and keep your child comfortable from start to finish. Every piece of equipment we use was chosen with one question in mind: does this help us take better care of kids?
Digital Intraoral Radiograph Sensors
When X-rays are needed, we use digital intraoral sensors rather than traditional film. The sensors are fast, accurate, and produce a fraction of the radiation that older film-based systems require. Images appear on screen in seconds, which means less time waiting and more time talking with you about what we actually see. We take radiographs when they are clinically indicated, so your child is never exposed to imaging that does not serve a clear purpose.
Digital Panoramic Radiography
A panoramic X-ray gives us a single, wide-angle image of the entire mouth, including all the teeth, the jaw, and the developing permanent teeth that have not yet come in. It is one of the most useful diagnostic tools in pediatric dentistry because it lets us see the full picture of how your child’s dentition is developing over time. The scan is quick and straightforward, and your child simply stands still for a few seconds while the machine does its work.
Intraoral Cameras
An intraoral camera is a small, handheld device about the size of a pen. It lets us take real-time images inside your child’s mouth and display them on a screen so you can see exactly what we see. This is one of our favorite tools for simplifying communication with parents and patients, because there is a real difference between hearing “there’s a spot we’re watching on that molar” and actually seeing it. When families can see what we see, conversations about care become much clearer.
All-in-One Dental Isolation
Keeping a child’s airway protected is important safety. Keeping their mouth comfortable, dry, and open during treatment are some of the most important factors in getting great clinical results. The isolation system we use combines a soft mouthpiece, gentle suction, and lighting all in one device. It reduces the number of instruments in the mouth, keeps things dry for better material bonding, and helps kids feel more settled during treatment. Less movement and more comfort means better outcomes for your child and more confidence for you.
Leading-Edge Dental Materials
The materials we use matter as much as the tools we use. We work with high-quality, current-generation restorative and preventive materials, including tooth-colored restorations, biocompatible sealants, and both fluoride and fluoride-free remineralizing options. We do not use outdated materials simply because they are familiar. When something better is available and clinically appropriate, we use it with the intention of getting the best outcomes for our patients.
